and Stuart (Wally) Wallace are freelance mountain leaders and sole
traders as well as a husband and wife team. This website is a shared
venture to manage bookings to both our businesses. It will be clear at
the time of booking which of us will be working with you for your chosen
activity, and we don't mind if you express a preference!|
Lucy holds the Winter and Summer Mountain Leader awards. She is based on Arran but work takes her all over Scotland and abroad. She is an accredited
DofE Assesor working with a number of schools and Approved Activity Providers. Prior to setting up her own wildlife guiding business Lucy was RSPB Information Officer for Arran. She is a member of Arran Mountain Rescue Team.
When not working, Lucy loves to roam the hills, mountaineering, watching wildlife and just taking it all in. Together with her husband Wally she enjoys climbing, sea kayaking and mountain biking. Overseas expeditions both for fun and work have included trips to the European Alps, Morocco, South Africa, Tanzania and Malawi.
A self confessed gear geek, Lucy reviews outdoor equipment for Mountain Pro and Outdoor Enthusiast magazines. She enjoys writing, and you can visit her blog to find out what she and Wally have been up to lately in the hills.
Stuart Wallace aka "Wally", holds the Mountain Leader Winter and Summer Awards and the Single Pitch Award as well as the RYA Advanced Powerboat Certificate.
He has extensive experience of working in outdoor education and adventure tourism all over the UK but particularly in Scotland and Wales. Having lived on Arran for ten years and explored every nook, cranny and rocky tor, he knows the hills like the back of his hand. He is a member of Arran Mountain rescue Team.
When not working, Wally is a keen climber, cyclist and sea kayaker. Overseas trips have included trekking in Nepal, crossing Morocco by bike, and mountaineering in the Alps.
Wally loves to tinker with bikes and is a skilled cycle mechanic.
